DEVELOP DYNAMIC WEATHER PATTERNS! WOW
TWO MODDERS HAVE DEVELOPED QUITE THE GAME-CHANGING MODIFICATION FOR CS: GO – A DYNAMIC WEATHER SYSTEM THAT CHANGES FROM ROUND TO ROUND, INTENDED TO ALTER HOW EACH MAP SHOULD BE PLAYED DEPENDING ON THE PARTICULAR WEATHER SYSTEM PRESENT.
For four years, players have been competing on the maps of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. These maps have been very tightly regulated for the eSports scene for fairness. Some modders wanted to break the monotony of these maps. Courtesy of modders Lewis Palfrey and Luke Millanta, de_dust2_w introduces “varying weather patterns” to one of the game’s most popular maps, dust2, and also extends to Cache, Mirage and Overpass.
“There is a pool of ten different weather patterns,” reads the mod’s description. “At the start of each round one of these weather patterns is selected.”
Snipers can conceal themselves much easier, but those trying to sneak up on them are now harder to hear, as well. There are pros and cons for everyone, but the biggest being that everyone is affected the same. Sight and hearing is impaired equally across the board, but snipers can still see the farthest.

This mod is definitely still in development, but if you try it out, like it, and want to help, report any bugs to the developers!
